It came with DishTV and the installation was only $1000 6 years ago. Feh! I'm done with both. When Qwest finally allowed us DSL last April, I jumped and can't be happier. I see that WIFI doesn't service your little city, either. Mine's around the corner with a wee 2000' peak between me and town.

Can't dual boot Vista Home Premium & Win XP Pro
If Vista is installed after XP, the installer will kludge things for XP's boot manager if you ask it to, but if you don't have software dual boot now, just keep using the BIOS's HD Boot I'd only use it if I had multiple OSes on the same HD because the BIOS's HD Boot Order can't select among partitions on a HD.

Installing Windows XP after Vista in Dual Boot Configuration
Kinda worried about some programs working under Vista, maybe a solution is to set up a dual-boot Vista/XP system? Does that create hassles on bootup, having to choose each time? Can it be set up to default to Vista? If everything's working ok, is it a problem to then delete the XP partition?

Dual Boot Vista & Windows XP
My Boot Time came out to be 116 seconds which is in fact not all that bad. I only had a total of 7 event ID's listed after rebooting and from them saw my issue. How to achieve actual use of my full 4 GB RAM,
You generally have to install the 2 OSes sequentially in different folders (or disks), so that the single preboot (there can only ever be one, on the active partition) handles them sensibly. You can install Vista in the presence of XP and dual boot them (provided that you install Vista on a different partition),

It is also trickier to install XP after Vista is already installed. I'll give you links for all these things. Whether you use virtual computing or a dual-boot depends on what you want to do in the guest operating system (in your case, XP). If you only need to run 2D programs in XP, virtual computing is most
